I had such a fun & unexpected weekend. I’ve been a bad blogger, I didn’t schedule any posts, because I didn’t write any. And I can’t say I’m at my most eloquent right now, I’m still a little foggy from the weekend’s festivities. I painted, attended a wedding & unexpectedly, J and I got gifted 2 sponsor ACL wristbands! So our lazy post-wedding Sunday turned into a festival-going day out. (Not complaining, we had an amazing time!) So I figured, instead of failing miserably at writing a good, informative post; let me just share my weekend with you….please ignore the iphone image quality (or lack thereof) Friday night I stayed in and ate cookie dough whilst painting a spot or two…I’ll be sharing my dalmatian wall DIY with you all very soon (Or maybe not too soon since I’m hand-painting these little guys. It’s pretty amusing, I can’t wait to share). Saturday morning I was up bright and early to run errands and dress shop for my good girlfriends wedding. Normally I get really lucky with the day-of dress shopping. Not so much on this time. I *gasp* had to re-dress. I didn’t really care though because this dress is amazing and I just love it. (I also got it on sale last season from Nordstrom Rack so woohoo! So I’ve definitely gotten my dollars-worth out of it.)
Me and J (looking dapper, I love him in a suit) before dinner and dancing at the Dreiss wedding which was held in the courtyard at San Antonio Museum.
An Instagram from miss Whitney of Whit+Wonder. We stole a pic with the beautiful bride! This girl is amazing. Super smart and so kind. I’m so happy we all got to be there for her on her big day. The wedding itself was gorgeous. Subtle and incredibly romantic. We were outside under large trees strung with lights and the colors were so appropriate for the season.
The cakes were stunning and on display inside one of the museum’s exhibits. The bride had a layer of carrot cake and 2 layers of white cake with raspberry. The groom, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. I had a slice of both! Because of love sugar. We had a late drive home, but we had an amazing time. Definitely tired from the long day, we were looking forward to a sweatpants and take-out kind of a day on Sunday……but……..
This happened. One of J’s bar friends gifted us two ACL wristbands. Um…OK! So we shifted gears and put our music festival pants on (I actually wore shorts, but you get what I’m saying) And off we went! It was also my first ACL experience since in years past I’ve always had to bartend the whole weekend. First stop was the BudLight stage, where we sipped free Bud Light and caught a little behind the scenes action at the Toro Y Moi concert. (You can catch them next weekend OR check out their show at Emo’s on Wednesday) They were great and for being at ACL for my first time ever, the experience wasn’t too shabby.
We met up with a group of our friends and had a great time laughing, drinking and just enjoying the experience that is ACL. Our city is seriously so amazing. (I mean, you can’t look at this picture and NOT think that.) The weather was beyond perfect. The whole day seemed to have an aurora of awesomeness around it.
I have been a little blue the past few weeks, the stress of work and moving was pretty overwhelming. So this weekend was MUCH needed. I’m tired, but so happy. It’s the little things.
